Time lapse simulation for SAGD(Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage) of JACOS (Japan Canada Oil Sands) assuming seismic ACROSS and 2D geophone array

Abstract
JACOS (Japan Canada Oil Sands Limited) has been producing bitumen which is a kind of heavy crued oil by SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) technology for EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery), in which hot steam is injected into the oil-sand layer from horizontal well and melted bitumen is collected through another well. The repeated 3D seismic reflection has revealed the change in travel time and amplitude due to melted bitumen. We consider more continuous time-lapse imaging of the state of bitumen using seismic ACROSS and geophone array. Our simulation suggests the high potential for detection of underground changes, with appropreately positioned source and receiveres.
