Investigation on wave-form separation by Indepedent Component Analysis (2)-Application to observation data of earthquake ground motion and railway-induced ground vibration-

Abstract
We applied Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to observation data of earthquake ground motion and railway-induced ground vibration, to separate the original data from those observed. We used 3 data sets of railway-induced ground vibration recorded at different points. The separated signals for 3 data sets are similar to the shapes of envelope in the time domain, especially for earthquake ground motions. Those amplitudes are almost the same in the frequency range of 0.5Hz to 30Hz for earthquake ground motions. On the other hand, those amplitudes for railway-induced vibration are well matched in the frequency range larger than 10Hz and less than 3Hz. We confirmed the validity of wave-form separation by ICA, for the observation data of earthquake ground motion and railway-induced ground vibration.
