Development of simultaneously multipoint measurement system using wireless sensor networks for fluid flow electromagnetic method

Abstract
It is effective to continuously monitor by using many widely spread measurement stations to cover the survey area, to figure out the dynamic behavior of resource fluids in the subsurface and the reservoir. For that purpose, we developed four-dimensional geoelectromagnetic method named Fluid Flow Electromagnetic Method. In this research, we developed the measuring instrument which measures changes of the electromagnetic field at all measurement stations simultaneously caused by fluid flow behavior to evaluate it. The instrument should be low-cost to reduce total survey cost, because a lot of measuring instruments are necessary for this method. Furthermore, it should also be low-power to reduce electric power consumption to be able to perform the long-term monitoring. Therefore we developed the low-cost and low-power measuring instrument which consisted of latest devices. The developed instrument measures two electric field components and three magnetic field components which are measured by using very sensitive tri-axial MI (Magneto-Impedance) sensors. The measurements are transmitted through the wire-less sensor network from the instrument at each station to the main controller.
