Seasonal Variation of Underground Structure Investigation Results in a Cold Region

Abstract
We think that surface underground structure investigation result is affected by changing physical properties of frozen ground. In Kushiro where frost heaving is deep, we carried out continuous measurement of underground temperature to check the depth of frost heaving. In the winter and in the summer, we also conducted microtremor array observations and surface wave investigation to estimate S-wave structures. Thus, we evaluated seasonal variation of underground structure investigation results in a cold region. The estimated surface S-wave structure was difference in the summer and in the winter. We must estimate carefully surface underground structure in seasonal frozen ground area.
