Development of an evaluation method for rock slope stability by remote acquisition of rock block vibrations


Abstract
The authors studied on an evaluation method of rock slope stability by remotely-positioned Laser Doppler Vibrometers (LDV), which was supported by the Program for Promoting Fundamental Transport Technology Research from the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency (JRTT). The resultant evaluation system include 1) a remote acquisition and analysis system for rock block vibration, 2) stability evaluation method for rock blocks by vibration characteristics, and 3) simulation method for rock falls. Although there still have been some problems to be solved, we obtained expected results.
