| | Abstract | | The new Square-Array methods were developed using time domain electromagnetic induction effects as the source to measure the resistivity and IP of the ocean bottom mineral deposits. The System was tested at the Ogasawara area on Aug, 2012 and reasonable data were obtained. To develop the system, intensive numerical simulations and analogue water tank experiments were performed, and in this paper the results of the latter experiments are explained. Through this water tank experiments, real core samples from the ocean bottom mineral deposits were used as the targets, and the following conclusions are obtained : 1.Resistivities and IP effects can be measured using the inductive transmitter. 2.Resistivities and IP effects can be separated by the decay curves of the responses. |
