Combined analysis of geophysical exploration data at soft sedimentary rock site near coastal area - Application to results of Micro-tremor Array and Magneto-Telluric surveys -

Abstract
Recently, basic studies are conducted that the combined analytical techniques using P-wave velocity and resistivity for soft sedimentary rocks based on the rock geophysical models. However, there are few application examples using the S-wave velocity and surface geophysical exploration data. The micro-tremor array and the Magneto-Telluric surveys, using natural source, have a moderate exploration depth not depended on the length of the survey line. We have suggested the new combined analytical technique using the S-wave velocity and the resistivity based on the bimodal grain mixture model. We have conducted the combined analysis using the S-wave velocity structure by the micro-tremor array survey, the resistivity structure by the Magneto-Telluric survey, and the geophysical logging data, and calculated the profile for salinity of groundwater. The results adjust almost the salinities of pore water picked up from the boring rock core samples. This analytical technique is convenient to investigate the shape of the interface of the fresh groundwater and salt water at costal soft sedimentary rock sites.
