Investigation for the monitoring of the ground stability using cosmic rays muons

Abstract
We have developed the ground exploration system using cosmic ray muons. Three-dimensional density structure of the ground is able to explore using multi- direction muon telescope and three-dimensional tomography technique. It is necessary the period of time to estimate the ground density accurately. When the covering depth is large or the measurement area is wide, the measurement time becomes long. These are the problem for long-term monitoring (density fluctuations) of the ground. Therefore it is observed the cosmic ray muon fluctuations at the time, and it is necessary to clarify relations with climatic condition or the solar force field potential. The difference by the incident direction of the muons influences determination of density accuracy. In this study the basic data of muon fluctuations at the time and the deference by the incident direction by the fixed-point observation for more than one year to apply to stability monitoring of the ground.
