Development of high-resolution wall sensor and its application to the deterioration survey of erosion control dam


Abstract
Concrete structures older than 30 years have been increasing year by year. The demand of deterioration diagnoses for these dams are increasing at the same time. We developed the instrument (Slice tomography system) for such a deterioration survey. This unit can be installed in locations where the human can't go into the place such as flooded front apron without setting each sensor to the surface of dam body by hand operation. By using an acceleration sensor geophone, we also possible the measurement in high-frequency range (over several hundred Hz)that was hard for conventional geophone. It can be possible not only the surface survey of the dam but also the interior by tomographic measurement (the seismic slice tomography) utilizing the merit of this system.
