| Abstract | In this paper, we examined an applicability of laboratory test of rock using ultrasonic pulse to estimate damping-factor, based on two different methods. The estimated damping-factors from two different methods by using ultrasonic pulse were in good agreement with each other. Furthermore, a cause of difference between the estimated damping-factors from laboratory tests and the ones from spectral ratio inversion by using borehole array earthquake records were discussed with random velocity fluctuation of rock due to heterogeneity. |
