| Abstract | The high level radioactive waste program requires a stepwise approach as literature survey, preliminary investigation and detailed investigation, finally leading to the rational selection of a geological disposal site. In the preliminary investigation stage which is the second stage of three steps of siting, NUMO plans to carry out the ground geological survey, geophysical prospecting and drilling for updating the fundamental geological environment model that is built in literature survey stage. This paper describes how NUMO treats the geological environment model in the coastal area through the validation and demonstration program of geophysical prospecting in the CRIEPI's Yokosuka laboratory site. |
