Estimation of average S-wave velocities at Morioka City by using surface wave and microtremor array survey -Relation between the average S-wave velocities and seismic intensities by questionnaire survey-

Abstract
In order to clarify the difference of seismic intensities at Morioka City, surface wave and microtremor array observations were carried out at 11 sites. Average S-wave velocities were estimated from phase velocities of Rayleigh waves with the wavelength of 15m, 30m and 40 m by using empirical relations proposed by Nagao and Konno(2002). We compared to the estimated AVS distribution with the seismic intensity distribution. It was revealed that the AVS was small at the area where the seismic intensity was large. The correlation coefficient between the AVS distribution and the seismic intensity distribution was -0.66.
