| Abstract | In recent years, the developments of the ocean bottom hydrothermal mineral deposits are attracted attention as the new mineral resources in Japan. We consider Square-Array electrical survey as one of the ocean bottom exploration methods. In the ocean floor electrical survey, the currents in the sea water create critical influence to the potential measurements. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Square-Array electrical survey method using the sensitivity(alpha, beta) and the apparent resistivity(gamma) for the buried sphere models. As a result, reasonably high sensitivities are recognized for the low resistivity sphere under the bottom of the sea. And the gamma type array can estimate the boundary of a buried sphere. Lastly, Square-Array electrical survey can be effective electrode array to explore the ocean bottom hydrothermal mineral deposits. |
