3D simulation for Time lapse in oil and gas reservoirs and CCS reservoir using seismic ACROSS technology

Abstract Time lapse seismic monitoring of the oil/gas reservoir or carbon capture and storage (CCS) using seismic ACROSS (Accurately Controlled Routinely Operated Signal System) is examined by 3D simulation. With single-source and multi-receiver configuration, we evaluated the detectability of the temporal change in the underground reservoir by the time reversal (back propagation) method. The results show the effect of the limited arrangement of the receivers. It is demonstrated that the 3D simulation using the realistic configuration will provide essential information for planning the practical experiment.
