Achieving productivity improvement of seismic reflection data by simultaneous vibroseis technique

Abstract Recently, Simultaneous Vibroseis technique has been widely used to enhance data acquisition productivity and efficiency. There are several methods of simultaneous technique, however, we concluded Distance Separated Simultaneous Sweeping (DS3) is most efficient and simplest. Earthquake Research Institute and JGI, inc. had a field experiment to acquire simultaneously shot records last year. Also, conventional data were acquired for comparison in same experiment. The productivity of simultaneous acquisition was increased largely compared to conventional acquisition and data quality was equivalent down to target depth.
