Near-surface P-wave velocity structures around Istana Interchange obtained from crosshole seismic tomographic measurement are presented. This site is situated in a dense vehicle traffic of Kuala Lumpur - Seremban highway, so that there is no possibility to conduct surface geophysical surveys, even in the night. The objective of this survey is to make sure that there is no part of concrete piles is situated inside the planned tunnel path. Besides that, since almost 100 percent of tunnel alignment is situated inside a karstic subsurface system of Kuala Lumpur Limestone formation, the possibility of sinkhole occurrences is always existed. The tomographic results show that there is no concrete pile, which is situated beneath this site. Meanwhile, several possibilities of sinkholes to be occurred could be identified from small velocity anomalies situated inside the tomograms. Based on this survey, the TBM could drill though this site safely.
