Surveys on banks of the river using radio waves

Abstract
The survey system using the phase difference between the horizontal and vertical magnetic components of AM radio waves is applied for detecting the conductivity anomaly area on banks. The survey was conducted on the bank of Ushizu River on Saga Prefecture at 18 sites along a line of 750m long. The large phase difference observed at the site of 5 is well explained by the 2D conductivity model based on the result of the DC survey, in which a high conductivity layer possibly of ground water is underlain by the shallow conductive layer at the depth of 0.5 m.
