InSAR processing as a method of DEM improvement.

Abstract
This paper describes the method of InSAR processing for improving the digital elevation model. The Inversion method for InSAR analysis with smoothing scheme calculates both surface displacement and DEM error. DEM data set used here is SRTM3 with 90m resolutions. This DEM can be improved by minimizing the standard deviation of DEM error. This also determines the optimum differential data set pairs. An actual case study around Wanizuka Mountain in Miyazaki prefecture indicates the effectiveness of this method.
