Development of high accuracy low frequency small vibrator system and some examples of measurement results of geophones and accelerometers.


Abstract
We developed a portable vibrator system intended for range from 0.01Hz to 20 Hz. This system consists of the pulse motor, the laser displacement meter and the crossed roller slide. Pulse motor was controlled by micro step technique to obtain smooth movement even in low frequency range. The first derivative of displacement of vibration table measured by laser sensor was used as an input value of velocity, and the second derivative of one were used as input acceleration. We believe that the frequency characteristics of sensors could be estimated accurately in the frequency range from 0.02Hz to 20Hz.
