Subsurface imaging from inverse VSP using drill-bit vibration.


Abstract
In the investigation for earthquake resistant of nuclear power plants and disposal technologies of high level radioactive waste, many drilling were applied at the electric power institutions and the underground research laboratories. Various parameters about the drilling are measured continuously at the survey area. A data acquisition without stopping a drilling has been needed in the survey using the borehole. SWD or MWD which use drill-bit as its energy-source were developed in the oil and gas field. We measured drill-bit vibration by the MEMS sensor which has characteristic of broadband frequency and strong stability, and report the subsurface imaging from inverse VSP.
