2.5-D modeling of time domain IP method

Abstract
Time-domain induced polarization method is commonly used for mineral exploration. We developed a time-domain IP program for horizontal layered earth model to understand the relationship between transient IP responses and Cole-Cole parameters. However, the 1-D forward program cannot simulate complex resistivity structures. A 2.5-D numerical modeling program was developed for time-domain IP method to simulate realistic resistivity structure. The Finite Element discretization using parallelogram elements is used to simulate complex topography. The result of numerical modeling is presented in this paper.
