| Abstract | As marine CSEM methods have been increasingly used for hydrocarbon exploration in various complex settings, there is increasing interest in developing and applying 3D inversion methods. This paper presents a 3D inversion algorithm for marine CSEM and MT data that is implemented on PCs. It uses an efficient staggered-grid finite-difference method for the forward modeling and is based on the Gauss-Newton approach. A synthetic data example shows the effectiveness of the algorithm and the benefit of inverting CSEM and MT data. |
