Estimation of electrical conductivity of pore fluid by using the bimodal grain mixture model -a case study on the coastal area of Horonobe, Japan-

Abstract
In our previous study, we expanded the bimodal grain mixture model to relate porosity, clay content, and electrical conductivity of pore fluid with electrical conductivity of whole rock. In this study we have applied this approach to geophysical logging and laboratory measurement data from borehole drilled by AIST in soft sedimentary layer in Horonobe, Japan, and successfully estimated electrical conductivity of pore fluid. We have also applied this approach to electrical conductivity obtained from MT survey to calculate spatial distribution of electrical conductivity of pore fluid.
