An application to dynamic examination of earthquake-resisting capacity of important traditional wooden buildings.

Abstract
We have investigated the dynamic property of old traditional ten wooden-buildings oflater Edo period and Meiji period in regards with valuation of earthquake-resisting capacity. The natural period T,quality factor Q,and maximum amplification ratio R of those important facilities of culture have been determined by use of analysis method of microtremors on the ground and buildings. The validity of the method has been examined through an application to seismic capacity assessment of very old-type wooden structures. The result has shown that natural periods T are very large, such as 0.4 seconds and damping constants h are large, such as 0.07.
