The problem of the geophysical exploration in geo-risk assessment

Abstract
In construction project, the reduction of construction costs is strongly demanded. With this, the reduction of preliminary geological survey costs is demanded. In the reduction of construction costs, it is thought that it is the most efficient to manage the uncertainty of the ground condition which is the biggest uncertainty in construction. Therefore it becomes necessary to estimate the uncertainty in preliminary survey, and to estimate the variation of construction cost caused by the uncertainty. In this study, we tried to estimate the geo-risk in a mountain tunnel survey. As a result, we understood that the interpretation precision for the geophysical survey result was important with the precision of the geophysical survey result at the same level.
