On Applicability of Fresnel volume migration in reflection seismic processing in tank experiment

Abstract
Seismic reflection method is one of the powerful geophysical exploration methods. An elastic wave passes in a spatial volume depending on its wavelength, which is called Fresnel volume. For the better migration, we considered the Fresnel volume for every received elastic wave. Fresnel volume migration is particularly applicable for seismic data with restricted aperture due to survey conditions such as tunnel seismic survey, VSP, etc. To use Fresnel volume migration, we first have to choose Fresnel volume for each of given seismic trace. In this study, we calculate an incident angle for each receiver using tangential angles by using tau-P transform. In order to ascertain whether this migration method using an incident angle is enough robust to real data, now we are checking Fresnel volume migration in reflection seismic processing in tank experiment. We show results of the fundamental study of the project.
