Virtual receivers by seismic interferometry

Abstract
Although seismic interferometry makes virtual sources, this algorithm can also construct virtual receivers. In this study, we propose Virtual Receiver Method, VRM. VRM regards an active source to a virtual receiver. When we know the position of sources, we can make virtual receivers using VRM. In land survey seismic interferometry becomes useful since it is difficult to set explosive sources than receivers. Oppositely, in marine survey, it might be difficult to deploy receivers when we use OBC or OBS. In this case, we use air-guns for the active source and the area of sources can be free at sea surface. By using VRM, these source positions become receiver positions. Also we can extend survey area and correct the distance difference between each receiver and source.
