Effect of variation of S-wave velocity structure on seismic response characteristics

Abstract
Effect of variation of S-wave velocity structure on seismic response characteristics is investigated using the S-wave velocity profiles derived from the PS loggings, vertical seismic array analyses and other explorations. Preliminary results show that the variation of transfer functions derived from six S-wave velocity structures is large in the frequency range more than a few Hz. This means that it is not easy to definitely evaluate the seismic response characteristics in this frequency range.
