Experimental Muon Telescope and Its Testing for Development of Geophysical Exploration System

Abstract
Experimental muon telescope has been made to acquire angular distributions of cosmic ray muons. The telescope is used in the underground infrastructure to explore cavities or voids. Muon intensity in the ground depends on the bulk density above the measurement site. The experimental muon telescope is composed the two plastic scintillators and applied the coincidence circuit. The PS has a diameter of 35cm, a thickness of 3cm and 200cm interval between two PS. The count efficient of the telescope was acquired from the calibration test in air. The underground angular distribution of the surface density and bulk density were estimated by Minatos formula. The estimated density was precise compared with the designed value of the construction. We will develop the geotomographic analysis for geophysical exploration system using cosmic ray muons.
