Laboratory measurements of ultrasonic wave propagation on solid-liquid coexistence system generated in porous material -Data acquisition-

Abstract
The objective of a series of our experimental studies is to establish measurement system using an ultrasonic P-wave and S-wave transmission technique in low temperature. In this study, we conducted to laboratory measurements of ultrasonic P-wave and S-wave in partially frozen brines using in four kinds porous material for difference porosities and propagation distance. We observed the variations of a transmitted wave with frequency content of 300-1000 kHz through a liquid system to a solid-liquid coexistence system, changing its temperature from normal temperature to -15degrees. We found that porosities are influence about ultrasonic wave transmission in porous material. Low porosities are faster velocity, lower frequency and lower amplitude than high one.
