Estimation of S-wave velocity structure of deep sedimentary layers using a wave form inversion of S-wave in earthquake record.- Joint inversion of S-wave, surface-wave phase velocity and H/V spectral ratio -


Abstract
We propose a joint inversion mehod for estimation of 1D S-wave velocity structure of deep sedimentary layers using S-wave and phase velocity of Rayleigh wave. We conducted numerical experiments using synthetic data. The true S-wave profile is reconstructed from the joint inversion. Further more the method can reconstruct well the true model, even though synthetic observed phase velocity data are incomplete. This method was applied to actual data at Narita in the Kanto basin. Inverted structure is in a good agreement with profile from the PS-logging.
