Characterization of oil-contaminated site using high density 3D resistivity exploration and Direct push technique


Abstract
Application of geophysical exploration method in oil-contaminated site is expected to characterize oil contamination spot or diffusion area of oil. High density 3D ERT survey using DC or low frequency AC is expected to find anomaly of oil contaminated soil or understand hydrological background of contaminated area. Also, the direct-push method is expected to find oil contaminated spot directly without any laboratory analysis. In December 2007, we carried out several geophysical exploration methods in order to confirm effectiveness of geophysical exploration methods to investigate oil contamination site. In this paper, we introduce and discus the result of the investigation.
