Microtremor exploration of shallow subsurface structure at the Fukuoka city

Abstract
We curried out microtremor small array measurements to explore the subsurface S-wave velocity structure at 8 sites in the center of Fukuoka city. In this paper, we report the results of the exploration and their effects on earthquake ground motion. The thickness of the layer with Vs of 150m/s and 250m/s were 10m and 30m, respectively in average of 7 sites on the footwall of Kego fault. The 1D velocity structure model of each site showed amplifications characterized by dominant peaks in period range of longer than 0.2s of earthquake records.
