Evaluation of the Uncertainty of a Mountain Tunnel Ground Grade by Seismic Refraction Prospecting

Abstract
In the preliminary survey of mountain tunnel, it becomes a problem to increase the construction cost drastically in the construction stage caused by the difference between the predicted ground condition in preliminary survey and the actual ground condition. It seems to be the importance to grasp such construction cost increased risk in the preliminary survey stage, when the construction project is smoothly promoted. It is considered that the uncertainty of the survey result causes such difference. In this study, it was tried that the uncertainty of survey result was evaluated by optimistic scenario, pessimistic scenario, and maximum likelihood scenario. As the result, it was proven that the uncertainty of the interpretation of the geophysical exploration result was bigger than that of the uncertainty of the geophysical exploration result.
