Development of new clamping tool for borehole

Abstract
We developed a small light weight clamping tools in borehole called new borehole shuttle. The weight of the titanium made new shuttle was 5.8 Kg. The weight of new shuttle was lighter than 8.4 Kg weight of old shuttle which was made of stainless steel. The new shuttle is clamped to borehole wall by wedge mechanisms which increases the electromechanical power of clamping the shuttle. The sensors on the new shuttle are installed in the container as the same as old shuttle. In the case of the new shuttle 10Hz, 4.5Hz geophones and the servo accelerometers will be installed. We carried out VSP measurement to compare the new and old shuttles. The depths of sensors were max 150m. The data of the new shuttle is good enough as old shuttle. The detail of 3 component orbit obtained from new shuttle shows better response than the old shuttle. The detail of VSP analysis will be shown in future.
