Extension of The Gassmann-Biot Porous Media, Par4 -Approximation of the Field Stress Equation -

Abstract
Several useful forms of the fluid stress field equations are derived from the general expression presented in the former paper Part 3. An approximation of the fluid content ratio is equal to the porosity leads to the equation of the confined aquifer in the groundwater hydraulics. Another approximation of that the fluid content ratio is equal to the porosity plus the cracked space ratio leads to the equation which has been used in the fluid filled porous zone of the earthquake generating problem. A new concept of the cracked porous media was introduced. Finally, we derived coupled fluid stress equations which are closed for the two unknown variables, that is, the fluid stress and the increment of the expelled fluid. Thus, in principle, the problem is solved.
