Seismic interferometry using microtremor

Abstract
It is important to understand subsurface structure for earthquake disaster prevention. It is difficult to get high quality data in metropolitan areas because of high level background noise caused by heavy traffic and human activities. However, though the noise cannot specify sources, it is also seismic wave that contains information of the subsurface structure. In this study, we have applied seismic interferometry method to microtremor data and the results indicate the possibility of practical use of seismic interferometry using microtremor.
