| | Abstract | | It is generally said that the small-loop electromagnetic method has an ability to perform the depth sounding by using different frequencies. According to the sensitivity analysis, the sensitivity of the quadrature component has the maximum value at the same depth regardless of the frequency, while that of the in-phase components has the peak at different depth depending on the frequency. However, the in-phase response is very weak, so it is very difficult to do the depth sounding unless the resistivity of the earth is low enough to produce appreciable in-phase response. |
