| Abstract | It is important to clarify landfill properties for estimating pollution risk from landfill sites. It has been reported that resistivity monitoring is effective for interpreting temporal changes in landfill properties. In order to examine the effectiveness, resistivity monitoring were carried out periodically on three landfill sites. In addition, the leachate level was measured in each observation well, and the solution was sampled from the well. Conductivity, pH and water temperature were measured during sampling, and the concentrations of ions were analyzed in the laboratory. Temporal changes of landfill properties is interpreted on the basis of the relation between the resistivity profiles and the properties of leachate. Resistivity monitoring is extremely useful for interpreting the temporal changes of properties in early-stage landfill sites. |
