Development of measurement system for Fluif Flow Electromagnetic method -Experimental production of portable triaxial megnetometer-

Abstract
In order to figure out the dynamic behavior of subsurface resource fluid, for example petroleum and geothermal fluid etc, it is very important to monitor the three-dimensional dynamic fluid flow in the reservoir using geophysical techniques. We developed 4-D geoelectrical method that is called Fluid Flow Tomography method to visualize the real-time behavior of fluid-flow of fluid resources in reservoirs. This method was utilized for evaluating subsurface artificial fractures while hydro-fracturing in HDR, for monitoring the fluid-flow of heavy oil in oil-sand layer in Canada and for monitoring geothermal reservoirs. Electric phenomena, a streaming potential and a resistivity change, due to fluid-flow can be measured by Fluid Flow Tomography method. However magnetic phenomenon caused by a streaming current is supposed to be observed simultaneously. In this research a portable triaxial magnetometer to detect the three components of magnetic field was investigated for Fluid Flow Electromagnetic method.
