Measurement of borehole surroundings by Linear Dipole Array in a Borehole

Abstract
It is important to estimate conductivity and permittivity of formation around antennas in borehole radar measurement. We compared experimental data with theory calculation to estimate these parameters. We did experiments in granite with the borehole radar which consists of one transmitter and a linear dipole array with five antenna elements. We scanned the sonde in the single hole. And We calculated this radar including the granite medium and the antenna characteristics by Method of Moment. These experimental and theoretical results were analyzed by cross-spectrum analysis to calculate the frequency characteristic of the relative amplitude and the group delay. In this paper, we examined this relative amplitude and group delay.
