| Abstract | As an equivalent source, we set a distribution of semi-infinite oblique columns, whose top surfaces are coincident with the observation plane, and whose axes are parallel to the ambient field. First, in the magnetization directions along the column axes, the magnetization intensities are decided to produce the distribution of total magnetic anomaly on the observation plane. Second, the magnetization directions are changed to the vertical, to produce the anomaly reduced to the pole. This method affords good insight into the conversion characteristics, compared with usual methods based on dipole distribution, because magnetic fields are evaluated from charges on column surfaces. |
