Estimation of basement structures in the northern part of Kitakami Lowland, Iwate Prefecture by using microtremor H/V spectra

Abstract Microtremor observations were carried out by using one tri-axial seismometer at 60 sites in Hanamaki City, Shiwa Town and Yahaba Town, Iwate Prefecture. The depths of the basements were estimated from the peak periods of microtremor H/V. Estimated depths of the basements were gradually increasing from the east area to the south area. Finally, the distribution of the basement structures in the northern part of Kitakami Lowland were estimated by sum of results of this study and previous studies.
