| Abstract | A surface-wave method and small-scale micro-tremor array measurements have been carried out at Kariwa and Kashiwazaki, Niigata prefecture damaged by The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007. A lot of residential area were deformed or liquefied by the earthquake. Most of the damage concentrate on geological boundary such as the foot of sandy dune. Liquefaction potential evaluation based on S-wave velocity obtained through the surface-wave method has been carried out. S-wave velocity and PL value drastically change where significant differential settlement by liquefaction is observed. Difference between liquefaction damages by 2004 and 2007 earthquakes can be explained by liquefaction potential evaluation using S-wave velocity. |
