| | Abstract | | We estimated velocity structures of deep sediments around Lake Biwa using waveform inversion for S-wave part of earthquake ground motion due to small to moderate events. We compared estimated S-wave profiles with a 3D basin model from geophysical and geological surveys and H/V spectra ofearthquakes by Suzuki et al.(2005). Our profiles have slightly deeper basement depths than the 3D model. However, our model can also explain the peak periods of the observed H/V spectra. |
