Estimation of S-wave velocity structure using microtremor array measurements in Matsumoto basin

Abstract
Microtremor array observations were conducted at 8 sites in Matsumoto basin, Japan, to know S-wave structure down to the basement having an S-wave velocity of about 3km/s. We temporally installed 7 vertical sensors in arrays with a radius of 0.3 to 1.5 km. Very small arrays with a spacing of about 1 to 50m were also deployed. Rayleigh wave phase velocities are extracted with array analysis of the records. Then, we applied phase velocity inversion to estimate 1D S-wave profiles. The profiles are in an agreement with refection and refraction profiles.
