Estimation of CO2 saturation using Well logs

Abstract
When we monitor a CO2 sequestration using geophysical techniques, it is very important to estimate the CO2 saturation from geophysical data. For this reason, we started to study a theoretical approach to derive a CO2 saturation from a seismic velocity. In this paper, we first discuss about a technique which derive the CO2 saturation using Gassmann theory, effective fluid and Rock physics model. After that, we discuss about an issue of a saturation state (uniform saturation and patchy saturation) which cause the change of the saturation-velocity curve. These approaches will lead to a correct estimation of the CO2 saturation from the geophysical data.
