System Development of Full Wave Tomography for Radioactive Waste Disposal Site Investigation -A case study in the Grimsel Test Site, Swiss.

Abstract
As continuing efforts for further development of geophysical technique on the investigation and assessment of a radioacitve waste disposal site, we have applied our full wave tomography system to the crosswell seismic data acquired in Grimsel test site 2 decades ago. Compared to the previous interpretation, full wave tomography considering elastic wave equation coupled with weak anisotropy of P and S waves and density as well is expected to show an integrated one for the crystalline rock. We have detected an increase in velocity distribution to north and have identified an anisotropy following same direction, which might possibly be caused by the lamprophyre distribution. Yet, we suffered with the systemic error and data corruption during data acquisition, which affects the reliability of the interpretation and consequently leads us that we should acquire a seismic data set controlled with more care.
