Love wave phase velocities were continuously estimated from the rotational component array records using the spatial autocorrelation method, and Rayleigh wave phase velocities were also estimated from the vertical component array records. Love wave phase velocities were obtained in the range of 180 to 280 m/s at frequencies from 7 to 12 Hz, and Rayleigh wave phase velocities were obtained in the range of 240 to 470 m/s. The Love and Rayleigh wave phase velocities around the center area of the survey line were consistent with phase velocities calculated using a previous S-wave velocity model, confirming the validity of the estimation method. Furthermore, phase velocities tended to be slower around the area of the both ends of the survey line and faster in the center, suggesting spatial variation within the ground. Nov. 26	11:30 - 11:50 "The Morimoto-Togashi fault zone, extending about 26 km along the southeastern margin of the Kanazawa Plain in central Japan, is a reverse fault where the eastern side thrusts over the western side. Based on previous geological and geophysical investigations, this fault zone is suggested to be capable of generating an earthquake of magnitude ~7.2, emphasizing the importance of clarifying its subsurface structure for seismic hazard assessment. In this study, we analyzed continuous seismic records from dense temporary and permanent networks, excluding earthquake signals, to extract surface-wave information from ambient noise. Group velocity dispersion curves were estimated using frequency-time analysis, and phase velocity dispersion was derived through a SPAC-based method. Phase-velocity tomography and non-linear inversion were then applied to construct a three-dimensional S-wave velocity model. The results reveal thick low-velocity layers beneath the Kanazawa and Tonami plains, while surrounding regions show relatively uniform and faster structures. Nov. 26	11:50 - 12:10 "A natural earthquake event was coincidentally recorded by dense linear geophone array set along the streamline of Kokai River, Ibaraki Prefecture. Hybrid surface wave survey was being conducted at the site February 21st in 2019. A total of 240 vertical type geophones had been planted at 2 m intervals on the high-water floor at that time. The major survey parameters were, 2.4-sec recording at 0.5 ms sampling for active seismic measurements. The recorded earthquake occurred on 15h13m45.29 sec, its magnitude was 2.0, and hypocenter depth was estimated as 45.5 km. 2-second-long phase of the earthquake was recorded masked by an active shot data. Because the epicenter was located only 18.6 km eastward and roughly perpendicular to the survey line, it was highly probable that the primary earthquake waves propagated vertically to the geophone array. Nevertheless, picked events were non-aligned, and showed relative time terms larger than 30 ms. Then we interpreted the time terms as 'receiver statics' and correlated them with S-wave traveltimes for the surface 40m. Spatial pattern of the receiver statics generally coincided with the traveltimes. Consequently, observation and static analysis of natural earthquakes by dense linear sensor array is helpful to delineate the near surface geophysical structure."	4) Near surface structure estimated from a ntural earthquake observed by a dense geophone array

In this monitoring system, the source wavelet is required to identify the reflections from the magma. The numerical simulation using finite difference method are performed to simulate the wavefields generated by the seismic airgun in the pit constructed on land. The numerical simulation provides not only the wavelet radiated from the pit, but also the pressure field on the inner wall of the pit. The simulation results were consistent with the field experiment using the funnel-shaped pit case. As the result of Part 1 study, there is a possibility that the airgun pressure wave applied to the concrete wall of pit could exceed its tensile strength. In this study, the large rectangular pit with the attachment of steel sheet to the inner wall are considered. The numerical simulations are performed in the same manner as Part 1. The results show that the pressure field on the inner wall of the pits are lower and the wavelet radiated from the pit is less distorted in the large rectangular pits cases compared to the funnel-shaped pits cases as shown in Part 1. This presentation reports the results of data analysis from a MCS survey. As a case in point, several prominent reflectors were identified in the lower crust and uppermost mantle directly beneath the aftershock zone along the survey line at traveltimes of approximately 7, 10, and 12 s. Nov. 26	14:30 - 14:50 "We conducted a wide-angle seismic survey offshore the Noto Peninsula using dense ocean-bottom seismometer (OBS) deployed at 2 km spacing and airgun shots at 100 m intervals. Waveform preprocessing was done with a source signature extracted from near-offset traces, and upgoing and downgoing wavefields were separated through summation and subtraction of pressure and vertical components. Reverse time migration (RTM) was then applied for reflection imaging in depth. In addition to primary reflections (upgoing), we utilized free-surface multiple reflections (downgoing) via the mirror imaging technique, which expands subsurface illumination. The resulting images reveal internal structures of shallow sedimentary strata, reflections indicative of seismogenic faults within the crust, and deep reflectors in the lower crust or upper mantle. Nov. 26	11:10 - 11:30 "The remote reference process of the MT method can be expected to dramatically improve the accuracy of the MT impedance if a magnetic field in a quiet noise environment is available, but otherwise, the remote reference process cannot be expected to improve the accuracy of the MT impedance estimation. The same applies if no suitable reference point can be found. Ideally, the MT impedance should be able to be estimated with high accuracy from the electromagnetic field data of only the measurement points. In this study, a new calculation algorithm was developed to enhance the accuracy of MT impedance estimation, even with single-site processing. This paper presents the algorithm and the results of improved MT impedance calculation accuracy using simulation data. The calculation algorithm is characterized by avoiding the calculation of auto-power, which reduces the accuracy of MT impedance estimation. By using only cross power without auto power, it was confirmed that MT impedance close to the true value can be obtained by increasing the number of data points used for ensemble averaging, even in a fairly noisy environment. Nov. 26	11:30 - 11:50 "We have developed a new capacitively coupled resistivity (CCR) meter to detect weak points along river levees. For this purpose, it is important to characterize the soil distribution from the levee crown to the foundation ground. Therefore, a measurement system using two types of line electrodes of different lengths has been developed. The developed system uses a dipole-dipole array. In this paper, a sensitivity analysis and a field test were conducted to assess the performance of the developed system. As a result of comparing sensitivity distributions of line electrodes and point electrodes under homogeneous ground conditions, the signal obtained by the line electrodes can be approximated by the signal obtained from hypothetical point electrodes placed at the midpoint of each line electrode. After undertaking 2D resistivity inversion for the field data using the approximated method, the resistivity profile for CCR showed a similar profile to that for ERT. In this study, we investigated temporal changes in resistivity by installing a steel pipe in a borehole and filling the surrounding area with cement milk. Measurements were conducted on a field of the Institute for Rural Engineering, NARO, using a pole-pole array from 1 day to 2 months after injection. The apparent resistivity data were analyzed through 2-D inversion and differential tomography to calculate resistivity distribution and change rates. To clarify the magnetic structure near Happo-one in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, magnetization intensity mapping was conducted using magnetic anomalies at a smooth surface of 1,500 m above terrain. The results revealed an obvious high magnetization intensity region corresponding to the serpentinite body of the Paleozoic Oeyama Belt, which is dominant near Happo-one. This includes the project of supercritical carbon (SC-CO2) recycle CO2 geothermal power generation launched in fiscal year 2021. To estimate the potential for SC-CO2 power generation, Okubo et al. (2023) calculated the Curie point depth (CPD) in Japan using the method developed by Bouligand et al. (2009) using AIST data set. Instead of the AIST data set, the magnetic data set used here is the one combined with the AIST data set and the heli-borne magnetic data sets of JOGMEC. The CPDs, calculated with a window size of 40 km, are shallower where helicopter-borne data set is available. A 3D geothermal structural model was constructed by compiling the CPDs and drillhole data using Leapfrog Geothermal 3D Modeling. Its purpose is for better understanding of the distribution of vertical fractures and faults which could possibly constitute geothermal fractured reservoirs. These geological formation developments are common to those of dykes and veins, which are sensitive to the survey by their nature of having remanent magnetization. The method is a division of the total magnetic intensity of survey data by the synthetic response of the designed pilar holding 1 A/m and a certain top surface in the wavenumber domain, which gives the distribution of pseudo-magnetization at the plain of the top surface. It is normally near to the surface, in which some dykes intrude in the geothermally prospecting area, and is designed based on the spectrum of survey data. Then, the distribution of pseudo-magnetization is converted to the subsurface depth using the representative value of magnetization in the study area which is also based on survey data. The application of pilar model is adequate, and the results of analysis of the survey data having the flight height of 1.5 km in Tohoku, Japan in 1980's show better delineation of highly magnetized rocks and their normalized or reverse nature. However, few studies have focused on the response characteristics for drone-borne frequency-domain electro-magnetic (FDEM) surveys. In this study, we extend the apparent resistivity transform, conventionally used for helicopter-borne FDEM, to drone-based systems. We conducted detailed numerical experiments to investigate the applicability and response characteristics of this transform for drone FDEM surveys. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the apparent resistivity transform and clarify its application conditions. Furthermore, our findings indicate its utility for optimizing survey design specifications. Efficient forward modeling is essential for inversion in various CSEM applications, including resource exploration, environmental studies, and hazard assessment. However, existing open-source codes have limitations, such as a lack of support for short-offset grounded wire sources and restricted arbitrary waveform inputs. Our numerical library addresses these issues by combining a high-speed C++ core with a user-friendly Python interface. The library computes frequency-domain responses using the Hankel transform and supports various sources, including magnetic/electric dipoles, loops, and grounded wires, for step-off and arbitrary waveform inputs. Performance evaluation demonstrates superior computational speed compared to existing 1D forward modeling software. Nov. 26	16:10 - 17:50 "Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an important tool for the maintenance of roadbeds, but its interpretation has traditionally relied on expert experience, requiring heavy effort and remaining highly subjective. In this study, we examine an anomaly detection approach using convolutional autoencoders (CAE). Unlike supervised methods, CAE does not require labeled anomaly data; instead, it learns background patterns and highlights deviations as potential anomalies. Building upon our previous work, this year's study applied CAE to a broader variety of GPR datasets and compared architectures with different numbers of layers in models, including VGG and ResNet models. The results showed that relatively shallow networks produced unstable reconstructions, leading to false positives. These findings provide fundamental insights for the practical application of CAE in subsurface exploration. Furthermore, the study suggests that organizing training data conditions, along with expanding and classifying background data, is crucial for enhancing detection accuracy. Future work will focus on optimizing model design and systematically identifying the factors leading to reconstruction failures and false positives." Nov. 26	16:10 - 17:50 "The East-West effect, an asymmetry in the arrival directions of cosmic-rays caused by the geomagnetic field, is a fundamental phenomenon in cosmic-ray physics. Since this effect influences the angular distribution of cosmic-ray muons, it represents an essential factor to be considered in muon radiography for reliable imaging and quantitative analysis. In this study, we evaluate the impact of the East-West effect on muon radiography by employing two independent approaches: numerical simulations based on cosmic-ray propagation models including the geomagnetic field, and experimental measurements with ground-based detectors. The simulation results provide predictions of the angular dependence and magnitude of the effect under various conditions, while the experimental approach enables us to characterize the effect directly from observed muon fluxes. By integrating the outcomes of both approaches, we aim to establish a methodology for quantifying the East-West effect and discuss its implications for improving the accuracy of muon radiographic techniques." Nov. 27	10:00 - 10:20 "In this study, we investigate elastic full-waveform inversion (EFWI) to infer sub-seafloor P-wave (Vp) and S-wave (Vs) structures using acoustic pressure data. Unlike conventional approaches relying mainly on reflected arrivals, our method incorporates later phases, such as refracted and multiple waves, to improve sensitivity to elastic parameters. Forward modeling is performed using a time-domain simulation framework that rigorously satisfies reciprocity and time-reversal symmetry. Synthetic experiments based on an extended Marmousi2 model demonstrate that higher-frequency components can better resolve fine-scale shallow structures, while longer time windows provide improved sensitivity to deeper regions. Furthermore, we examined the performance of different optimization strategies, including steepest descent and conjugate gradient methods, to evaluate their convergence and inversion quality. Nov. 27	13:00 - 13:20 "The Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, registered a maximum seismic intensity of 7 in Wajima City and Shika Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, causing damage to many wooden houses and infrastructure facilities.Results from continuous microtremor observations at single points, conducted over a somewhat wide area and in a discrete manner targeting the Noto Peninsula earthquake disaster zone, were compiled. Furthermore, results near strong-motion observation points were selected from these and compared with strong-motion records. This result confirmed the influence of soil nonlinearity.The results of this study indicate that the impact of nonlinearity in the EHVR (main shock) varies depending on ground characteristics and input magnitude. However, this investigation is based on a limited data sample of nine locations. It is important to consider the effect of the deep S-wave velocity structure reaching the seismic bedrock to reproduce strong ground motions generated from the large earthquake. In this study, we estimated two-dimensional (2D) deep velocity structures with S-wave velocities from 500 to 2200 m/s based on a waveform inversion using earthquake observation records. In addition, we simply constructed a three-dimensional model by compiling the 2D models and investigated ground motion characteristics at periods around 1 s by a simulation. We found that amplitudes of the motions become large due to the overlap of S-waves and surface waves generated at the edge of a basin. The dominant period corresponds to the natural period of a minaret of the Ulu camii, which is the most famous grand mosque in the area. Rayleigh wave phase velocities in a frequency range between 0.2 and 30 Hz were obtained at 25 sites in the microtremor explorations and used for one-dimensional S-wave velocity profiles down to the seismic bedrock. The seismic interferometry was applied to continuous records from the temporary strong motion observations (Yamanaka et al., 2024) to obtain Rayleigh wave group velocities at frequencies between 0.2 and 3 Hz. A tomographic inversion was applied to the group velocities for all the station pairs at each frequency for mapping the group velocities at 66 small areas after a rectangular cell division of the investigated region. Relatively large group velocities were obtained at the areas in the hills near the fault zones. RTT enables the separation of intrinsic and scattering attenuation by analyzing both direct arrivals and coda waves. Compared to conventional methods (the spectral ratio and median frequency shift method), RTT showed robustness against noise than the spectral ratio method. Analysis of Stoneley wave data generated by monopole sources revealed a tendency for lower intrinsic attenuation within fracture zones. The elastic anisotropy of caprock mudstones and shales affects stress field estimations and, consequently, predictions of their geomechanical responses. Elastic wave velocity testing, often using portable ultrasonic devices, is a common method for evaluating rock elastic properties. This study investigated these devices for measuring elastic wave velocities and assessing anisotropy. The shear wave transducer produces shear waves in twist mode, which in VTI media propagate as vertically polarized shear waves (Sv). However, their behavior in HTI media was unclear. To investigate, we prepared artificial specimens using epoxy and acrylic resins with known elastic properties, simulating cores being perpendicular and parallel to bedding planes, and measured wave velocities. Results showed good agreement with predictions from elastic tensors derived via Backus averaging of the individual resin properties, confirming velocities of Sv-waves in VTI media and horizontally polarized shear waves (Sh) in HTI media. Nevertheless, discrepancies in P-wave velocities between prediction and observation necessitate further investigation before concluding S-wave velocities in twist mode. Initial attempts faced a significant challenge with data imbalance, where the background class dominated the dataset. To address this, we employed various techniques, including robust loss functions and class balancing. However, these showed limited improvement. The most effective approach was to increase the number of input channels by incorporating seismic attributes such as discontinuity, which minimized memory consumption while significantly improving the accuracy. In civil engineering, compact PASS units (1.8-5.5 kg) have enabled surface-wave surveys down to ~20 m, supporting subsurface investigations such as detection of buried blocks, plates, and water pipes through attenuation analysis. For deeper targets in geothermal and CCS/CCUS projects, larger PASS systems (P1500, M1) generate seismic energy sufficient to reach depths exceeding 2,000 m. A field test at the INPEX Minami-Aga site demonstrated continuous PASS operation with signals detected at reservoir depth. To further expand applicability, PASS units can be operated in parallel for energy increase, and the M1 system has been modified for mobile deployment as a reflection source. Nov. 28	9:50 - 10:10 " In 2021, we conducted a seismic exploration around the Mori Geothermal Power Plant in Hokkaido, Japan, by the distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) method using the optical fiber in a geothermal well. Although we obtained the caldera shape Vp depth structure and seismic reflection image of this field, the structure was two-dimensional due to the limitation of seismic sources. To know the three-dimensional Vp depth profile and reflection image, we conducted the second seismic exploration of this field in 2024 using another two geothermal boreholes. We analyzed the whole seismic data obtained in 2021 and 2024. We obtained three-dimensional Vp structure showing the caldera shape in the central part of the field and the outside of caldera structure in the northern part. The most intense seismic reflection was identified at a depth of around 1,500 m. The seismic reflector for a much deeper depth than 1,500 m was identified. We made 3D structure including Vp, seismic reflections, and locations of lost circulation, flow-in and flow-out. A compact single-axis gimbal, housed in a 10-inch pressure-resistant glass sphere, was designed to minimize the effects of the tilt at which ocean-bottom seismometer (OBS) was deployed. Land-based tests confirmed that stable recordings comparable to horizontal installations can be obtained under slopes up to 30 degrees. Due to the difficulty in observing high-frequency microtremors on the seafloor, offshore active surface wave method was developed using a weight-drop seismic source with an underwater release transponder. A field trial offshore Niigata successfully estimated the S-wave velocity profile to approximately 20 m below the seafloor, demonstrating the applicability of the method to shallow subsurface characterization. In this study, these properties were measured from sediment core samples that were recovered within 40 cm below the seafloor using a remotely operated vehicle in and around areas where gas hydrates were discovered in near-seafloor sediment. For the measurements, a dual-needle probe method, which can measure these three thermal properties simultaneously, is applied. 		Mihonoseki is a scenic port town located on the eastern end of the Shimane Peninsula.


	Mizuki Shigeru Road
		Mizuki Shigeru Road is an 800-meter stretch of the main shopping street from Sakaiminato Station that celebrates the world-famous manga artist Mizuki, Shigeru. The street is lined with 177 bronze statues of Japanese monsters and "GeGeGe no Kitaro"' Scharacters etc.
